The limberjack is a musical rhythm instrument. It is sometimes called a clog doll, jiggerjack, clackety man or dancing doll because of its dancing action. With their swinging arms and legs they resemble clog dancers.
They are played in a seated position with a board partly tucked under your hip. The limberjack is suspended from a stick and held over the board. You tap the board and when it bounces up to hit the limberjack his feet create the clacking sound. With practice, you can dance the limberjack to music by shaking him down on the beat so his feet will click on the correct time.
